CBS News senior coordinating producer Tracy Wholf, the former head of the climate desk, was among those who were fired. Her departure came shortly after she sent an email within the news department suggesting that the network’s reports on Hurricane Melissa include context about the climate crisis.

Correction: the number of Palestinians in Israeli prisons is lower - the figure I gave was before the cease-fire exchange. The number currently is 9,204 from the West Bank, in addition to unspecified number of Gaza residents.

Hamas tortured Israeli hostages in Gaza as "retaliation" during that time and communicated to Israel that this is in response to Israeli policies. This didn't stop those in charge (Ben-Gvir and Netanyahu). They knew Israelis were paying a price for the torture of Palestinians, and still continued.

The case for International Criminal Court intervention is clear and indisputable. Israel cannot and does not investigate itself for crimes against humanity. Accountability has to come from elsewhere.

This is the clearest proof that Israel's legal authorities are unwilling and unable to investigate and prosecute Israeli war crimes. Even when military prosecutors try (in an embarrassing case where the evidence was irrefutable) they (not the perpetrators) are disciplined and punished.
