I personally don't think the current drama with d&d is going to happen (at least I hope it won't) but there are plenty of other alternatives!
We built AnyventureD12 to always be free and open source. There will never be publishers or money getting in the way of creativity.

Controversial maybe, but I don't like how attributes are so involved with determining combat skills in most tactical TTRPGs. Why can't I be a super strong and muscular character who can shoot a bow? Why do I need dexterity? Intelligence and Wisdom have the same problems

Random Hex Map Generator : Update 2
My random generator for hexcrawls is working a bit better now and accounts for temperature. I'm having difficulties representing "Snowy mountains" without them just looking like snow, so they are just grey-ish ATM.
Not sure what to do there?

As far as TTRPG settings, I always find planes the most exciting. I've been tweaking my planar map for the AnyventureD12 setting for awhile now and am finally happy with the result!
(Inkarnate also makes everything look kinda cool)
