On my way to Gothenburg for today's Batteries Sweden meeting, and the train is currently at a standstill outside of the final station because we are 20 minutes *too early*. This is first, at least for me...

Possibly the most embarrassing thing I've ever seen. Unbelievable
I have covered presidential politics for 40 years. This was the most juvenile display by a President and Vice President I have ever seen. Other presidents treated their enemies with more respect. This is a low point and a dark day for the US. Totally embarrassing.

In today's "better late than never" news, I have at last gotten around to rewiring the pickup selector switch on one of my guitars, since I had a tech install new pickups in it a while back and they did the switch backwards. That was about 18 years ago

The fallout from Northvolt's troubles continues now at Novo Energy (Northvolt-Volvo JV), who have announced plans to reduce headcount 30%. Very unfortunate and hoping for the best for friends and former colleagues at Novo. #battchat

Same here. As one of the last big websites which isn't shit, I figure Wikipedia is worth the support.
I’ve never donated to Wikipedia before but I set up a small monthly donation as a fuck you to the world’s richest psychopath.

Last day in the lab before holidays, had to hack the glove box touchscreen to work with a mouse since it stopped responding to touch, now trying to resist the urge to try and install DOOM on it

My second 🔓editorial for @naturenano.bsky.social is out. This time, I talk about something I care a lot: Why do battery researchers not use a shared basic electrochemistry terminology?

Others have noted it but I will too: The big reason Bluesky is so hot right now is that the people who add value to social media - the frequent posters in specific fields - are here now, talking to each other and creating the "spectator value" that draws users and attention.

Agree. Of the EU-homegrown battery factory initiatives, Northvolt has had the best conditions to grow and succeed. They have made mistakes of course, but have laid bare just how hard it is to grow this industry when Asia (esp. China) is already so dominant
#battchat
The possible bankruptcy of Northvolt is a story that should scare everyone in Europe. If the EU’s plan to compete with the US and China is more big government-backed continent-wide green tech ventures, Northvolt suggests Europe doesn’t know how and will fail. on.ft.com/3AAeZfD
