the ternary/infer chains frustrate me the most as they are effectively just distillations of type-level pattern-matching into lower-level steps, it's annoyingly clunky and it reads a lot worse than structured pattern-matching anywhere else would

there was some kind of lighting/rendering update as part of whatever expansion came out recently. seems pretty typical for sqenix and the game in general that it'd perform much worse after that

this is almost funny considering how severe my own self-disorder is otherwise, i'm too used to writing as if it's a translation process and i guess that approach must sand the edges off a bit
