This research adds another tool to misinformation interventions.

Comprehension is an effortful and knowledge intensive cognitive task, no matter how many bells and whistles tech can provide. In fact they are worse for learning!

- For comprehension performance, decorative images were worse (but the videos were more liked)
- For metacomprehension judgments, both videos led to lower and less precise judgments than text
- Verbal ability was a predictor of comprehension for both text and video
