Really bad that “antisemitism” is now being deployed to the same racist, exclusionary, and cynical ends as phrases like “wokeness,” “cancel culture” and “DEI.” Among other things, antisemitism is actually real.

I agree with what @jbouie.bsky.social said yesterday: If you decide not to release something and you take a tax write-off, it should pass into the public domain, since effectively the public has now subsidized it and you are claiming you can’t make money from it anyway.

"When politicians say [migrants are overwhelming local infrastructure], it is typically because they have refused to invest in that infrastructure for their own citizens long before the arrival of any migrants.

I finally wrote an essay about the rise of the far-right in Germany, for DIE ZEIT. It’s called “The Hatred Is Accelerating” and you can read it in English here: www.zeit.de/kultur/2023-... and in German here: www.zeit.de/kultur/2023-... - if of interest, please share.

I don't consider myself to be an optimist and yet I'm somehow convinced this crumpet I've just eaten is going to magically soak up all the wine! 🤣😫

I've been really enjoying this, I'm generally sceptical but it has raised the hairs on the back of my neck a few times. And then we just found out Bill's big secret and it's suddenly hilarious to me! I can see why they kept it back or you'd know he was gullible, gormless and highly suggestible!

Fucking hell. 🙄 Of course he is though. He's been auditioning for it for the last four years.

sometimes i think about the unbelievable waste of talent that goes into systematically abusing women out of entire industries and the stuff we'll never read and the perspectives we'll never hear and the music that will never drop and i get so angry i could bite a football in half.
EXCLUSIVE: I interviewed a dozen women about what it was like to be a staffer at Jann Wenner’s Rolling Stone (in light of his recent comments.) They described an office culture of “palpable fear” that was “a horrible place for women.”

Jacob Rees-Mogg MP had argued civil servants should have their redundancy money cut. But he's quite happy to take £16,800 in severance pay for a job he held for just 7 weeks. Funny, that. www.mirror.co.uk/news/politic...

I see the hell site is still the gift that keeps on giving! "Nobody ever used 'sweet summer child' before GoT and here's my proof, please ignore the bigger bump in usage around 1880 than when the books were published or my whole argument falls down, thank you so much" 🙄😂

most major social media sites have incorporated direct messages, and beyond that, its very logical to want access to private convos while not leaving the site's ecosystem

Most venture capital companies will buy something, load it up with debt, sell off the pieces, and run while it has to declare bankruptcy. They basically dismantle real companies to play bank games and make money.
And we keep allowing this for some reason.
