I'm aware that I only compared the canyon races here, but dammit I'm enthusiastic about those. They're the most unique element of this game and I love it to bits, so I hate to see especially them mutilated like this.

Honestly, yes. The graphics of 2006 have aged quite a bit as far as NFS is concerned (still look stellar, though). A revamp could do SO much to enhance the original artists' vision with modern graphical features.
So why then, why do they never do that? Why do they never care about the vision?

Especially for Carbon, where the textures, lighting and color correction were set up to create an unsettling, gloomy atmosphere?
