I don't see any of the experiences of trying and failing to do those things as 'wasted time'. I think the path from there to here is definitely one less traveled - and it really has made all the difference.

There are times I wonder, like all of us I expect, what life would have been like with different choices. Different college. If I'd gotten a good paying job out of college. If I'd gotten a permanent teaching job.
