Came home to happy mail. This volume of Untelling is just gorgeous! I am so honored to have an essay and two pieces of visual art in its pages among writers and artists whose work I admire.

This essay is also the first time I have publicly written about my vision. Talk about vulnerability. Gulp.

Life with two dogs. They live in the moment and soak up all the joy. They love unconditionally without question. They truly take pleasure in their food.

Goal = be like dogs.

A weekend of beauty, reflection, and being in community with some amazing humans (and trees) in the woods talking about ecology, art, connection, and so many other important topics was such a balm in this time of upheaval.

It is such an honor to have work in issue two of Untelling, the Literary & Arts Magazine of Hindman Settlement School. This essay is the first time I have openly shared about my vision issues, and it’s both healing and scary. It helps knowing it found such a lovely and safe home. So much gratitude 💚
