It's that magical time of year when private jets descend on a Swiss mountain village to discuss climate change and poverty! Anyway, here's my annual reminder. I'll stop posting this when they stop avoiding the real issue: their own massive tax avoidance 💰

Dow 50,000 seems like an extraordinary headline, until... you add some context.

The aggregate stock market return during the second Trump presidency ranks as 21st out of 23 developed countries.

The Liberals want to scare voters about who’s entering the country. But a lot of their voters want no one coming in at all, writes Bernard Keane.
Taylor snares himself in Dutton's migration trap — because without migrants, we're f***ed
Angus Taylor faces the same problem as Peter Dutton on migration: you can scare voters about who's coming in, but what about demands to cut migration altogether?

Opinion | Australia demands migrants don’t bring foreign conflicts here, while thinking we can engage in those same conflicts without blowback. We’re wrong, writes Bernard Keane.
Our crumbling social cohesion is blowback from a very Australian hypocrisy
The myth of social cohesion is that immigrants 'bring foreign conflicts' to Australia. They don't, and can't, but we take conflicts to them — courtesy of our American overlords.

Australia doesn't have a gas supply problem, we have a gas export problem.

Good to see the govt considering diverting export gas to the 🇦🇺 market. This should apply to existing projects. There's simply no need for new gas.

Labor is targeting a domestic reservation system that would ensure enough extra gas to bring down prices but not so much that producers rein in output.

Very disappointing the Albanese Govt has refused to accept the full suite of recommendations from the Briggs Review designed to stop the jobs for mates culture in federal politics.

No surprise there is such low trust in politicians!
