The International Committee on Systematics of Prokaryotes (ICSP) reclassifies Group B 𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘵𝘰𝘤𝘰𝘤𝘤𝘶𝘴 as its own genus: 𝘎𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘤𝘰𝘤𝘤𝘶𝘴 𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘧𝘪𝘦𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘪
I knew this was possible (e.g. 𝘌𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘰𝘤𝘤𝘶𝘴 used to be Group D 𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘵𝘰𝘤𝘰𝘤𝘤𝘶𝘴) but still caught me by surprise
Cool they are honoring Rebecca Lancefield!

Our institution was recently reclassified as an R2. I’m interested in faculty teaching loads in Biology Depts at other R2s. DM me if you are willing to share.
For context, we teach 9-12 contact hours/semester (1 hr in lecture or lab=1 contact hour). Some places would call it a 3/3 or 4/4.
