Fresh on the newsstands, the August issue of Isthmus features my review of Orchard in the far-flung (from Madison) reaches of Verona. Between green service and some doughy carbs, there's room for improvement, but it's a great room to spend time in, and brunch in particular is a winner.

Captain America is my favorite MCU franchise, and I just booked my seats for opening weekend. Here, now, are my odds for the mid-credit and post-credit scene subjects.

I want to meet someone who was in a test screening for AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR, because I really think Scarlet Witch originally said "hands off my boyfriend" when she blasts Corvus Glaive, and the "my boyfriend" part was trimmed out because it was too glib or goofy for the mood of the scene.

Personally crushed to learn that Lil Buddy's Popcorn -- home of my favorite Chicago dog in the Madison area -- has closed its Oregon shop and will be moving an hour+ north to Montello.

May be out of the game a lil bit but I still bring a solid half-dozen to dozen beers to the in-laws' house every Christmas.
