Likeable characters, great battle system, intuitive alchemy system... to me, Atelier Escha & Logy is the whole package. It's the game that first introduced me to the series a decade ago, and playing it for myself (and Ayesha) showed me how wonderful this series is.

Okay I wanna talk about Ulrika. In a sea of kind, hard-working and lovable female Atelier protags, she stands out so much for being the polar opposite. She has the drive but she's brash, loudmouthed, picks fights, insults others, jumps to conclusions, doesn't take responsibility, don't listen, etc.

So instead I started up another game that's just been sitting around forever... Stella Glow! I've even used its theme on my 3DS for years. So far it seems like a very approachable SRPG with Ar Tonelico vibes (I've never played Ar Tonelico). The combat is however very slow... wish it had speed-up

I was gonna start PMD Explorers of Sky last night (I've played Time extensively but never finished Sky) but then I saw my classmate's save file on it (I lent it to her for a period). She had almost finished the whole postgame and named the chars after her and her fiance 😭 I feel bad about deleting

Lydie & Suelle was the first game I properly played. I had already watched multiple playthroughs of the previous games and saw the base game on a Steam sale at around 2018 so I bought it. However, I dropped it 1/3 of the way and finally beat it last year.

Now for Bassmen and Youngmen... I feel like they've become a lot more finicky compared to SV1? Both pitch-wise and in general at max value, and especially when mixing them with other VMs. You can get some interesting tonal variations though, but it's a bit unstable and should be used sparingly

Frimomen power VMs with some tension. The VM autopitch are kinda wack and even worse when combined so I disabled them. Clearmen is a good inclusion as it's tonally different from Hardmen but the combination of the two is a bit lacking imo... maybe my expectations were too high from other vbs lol
