Every now and then it's nice to pick your head up from your book, reacquaint yourself with the world, take a hard pass and immediately go right back to reading. Balance is important 📚❤️

Toxic is the wrong word for me. January was emotionally exhausting and overwhelming so yeah, let’s just chill.
Okay February, you seem nice, but I just got out of a VERY toxic relationship with January so I’m not looking for anything too serious right now. So we can hang, we can have some fun, but the second you make me cry I am OUT

The least amount of anxiety I have felt this week was taking my 16-year-old driving when he almost ran a red light and instead interpreted my third “STOP” as “switch lanes and cut someone off”. That’s my baseline.

As a progressive Christian I don’t hold much stock in “denomination” but I was raised, baptized and confirmed as an Episcopalian and I have never been more proud of my church.

Whenever I start to feel anxious I immediately have another coffee and scroll through the worst news imaginable on my phone and omg it does not help at all

This month has been overwhelming, but good news…I’ve been waiting 25 years for denim skirts to come back in style, not because they are actually stylish (they aren’t) but just because you couldn’t find them and my old one fell apart (I don’t care much about being stylish).

Sorry we’re not riding at dawn. We’re having coffee and catastrophizing the day at dawn. Then we’re doing Wordle. Then we’re doing 35 minutes of doomscrolling, then we’re taking the longest hottest shower, then we’re sitting on the edge of the bed staring at nothing for a while, THEN maybe we ride.

The Arctic Ocean could see its first ice-free day as early as 2027, with a likely window within 9-20 years after 2023. This won’t bring dramatic change overnight, but it marks a fundamental shift in the Arctic’s natural environment—a stark warning about climate change. #ActOnClimate

“Complex thoughts” is the best way description of my feelings on the UHC CEOs death. While I would never condone murder, I get how it happened. I was pretty sure denials was going to be the result of my own demise at one point so maybe this will wake up the industry. Probably not.
