For work I study Wolbachia symbiosis in Montpellier
I finally got my hands on a MRI! Didn't help my wrist but now I have some really cool image stacks to play with 🤩

My new ImageJ / Fiji toolkit is out 🔥! The goal is to make image handling & visualization easy, with an intuitive interface! Install it on Fiji with the "Image Viewer" update site

Another aspect to consider is how much colors are saturated, depending on the LUT, the screen type and settings it can make a huge difference on data readability. Green Fire Blue is popular but really saturated

Have a nice #FluorescenceFriday!
This is pollen from pine tree, imaged from auto-fluorescence by confocal microscopy
the LUT is "KTZ bw DarkGold" 🔥

I’m happy to share some plugins I’ve been developping this summer: "Channels and Contrast" and LUTs Manager!
I can’t find new bugs and ideas by now so I need your help to please test them in your machines and report bugs, feedbacks and ideas! forum.image.sc/t/looking-fo...

I found an original way to play with 3D data on ImageJ : progressive color coding!
I'll share the script soon

Have a nice #FluorescenceFriday! This is the tip of a fig wasp antenna with auto-fluorescence in blue and DNA in red! These insects are very very tiny

for this #fluorescenceFriday I won't describe the sample, just enjoying the vide and color 💚

I love the gazoil LUT so much..

For this #FluorescenceFriday I share another example of the possibilities of making art with imageJ processing. This is a 3 day long time-lapse of a growing slime mold, with 15 min growth waves color coded.
the white things are oat flakes. I'll share the original video in comments

Hairy #FluorescenceFriday! This is an autofluorescent mite, imaged with a confocal microscope in 3D and once again color coded for depth 💙❤️🧡💚

for this recycled #FluorescenceFriday, I used the
@aussiebiologist
and
@S0maDash
open dataset from this paper journals.biologists.com/dev/article/... These are 18 and 24h old zebrafish embryos, color coded for depth!

Color coding is the coolest way to show 3D data in a single plane image! This is the end of a male filarial nematode (a worm parasite) with DNA in greyscale and symbiotic bacteria Wolbachia in depth color code 💜💙❤️🧡💚

This is a really cool image!
I played with it I hope you don't mind :)

Merry #FluorescenceFriday! These are male nematodes with Actin (muscles ) in red ❤️ and DNA in Blue 💙. The old slide started to dry and crystallize. With this and the cute little pollens, I think i makes a pretty cool shot!

Well, this is a great example of a colormap/figure that is not colorblind-friendly! 😅 I'm not familiar with FLIM but I assume the lifetime image is represented as a linear grayscale value? If so, I think it would make more sense to use a linear colormap, like mpl-magma. Could you share a raw image?

I also added and updated some KTZ LUTs! Can't wait to see how it looks on your cool data!
January 9, 2025 at 2:00 PM
I released the LUT finder: A plugin to see all your ImageJ / Fiji LUTs in a table with previews, auto generated descriptions and filtering! You can try it with the KTZ_LUTs update site or from github.com/kwolbachia/L.... I'm looking for your feedbacks!

Happy #FluorescenceFriday everyone

And of course the cool and soothing #invertedLUTs
with my new favorite combo: inverted grey + white.
and a last reminder, for social media sharing of cool microscopy, it's fine and good to use gamma correction to adjust the contrast without saturation!
