Okay, fine. It's been a while. Anybody's assessment changed?

I think Trump economics are going to be ruinous for the country as a whole and for credit card users in particular, but I am begging people to please remember that presidencies run from odd years to odd years. Here's is your chart, color coded by party with the presidency.

Ending of COVID benefits?

So I’ve been taking the same folio to off sites, conventions, and talks for over 15 years. Today when cleaning it out this fell out and I have 0 memory of the context, but hey: good reminder.

post a screenshot of your first 5 steam purchases and let bluesky judge you

I feel like I stand pretty well.

I avoided Steam for a long time and just bought and downloaded games. I feel like they required Steam for Portal 2 which is why it's my first?

Quote this with a book you read way too young that explains why you are the way you are.

I read this when I was 10. Still think about nuke war way too much.

I dunno, Thunk. I've got this thing literally in the bag.

Decided to go ahead and print the belt and boots in some silver filament I had. I can prime/paint them and the undershirt at a later date. All the printing is done though!

On the one hand, this post is extremely cool.

On the other hand, lots of us have similar claims. I have coded on both these games, for example.

I didn't look at the assembly instructions, so I think the eyes aren't in quite right. If I print the model again I'll probably look for two different colors of green filament (for the shirt under the tunic) and be more careful about the eyes.

From the game, for comparison:

Latest 3D printer project - missing belt and boots because I don’t have any brown filament and am trying to decide what color to make them.

Here’s the model for the interested: makerworld.com/models/1328096

Assuming political zines and this climate then, picking this based on language on the spine alone.

How’d I do? What is this?

Not a big surprise I guess:

Don't know how I overlooked this the first time. This was #2 and is definitely a fit:

Take the fictional characters quiz and post the first four you know: openpsychometrics.org/tests/charac...

Agree with the first one. It's a strange mix for sure.

Maybe a better picture. The flash makes everything front lit but at least you can see everything.

All the boards and these remaining sets will live on similar shelves on the left sharing the center support.

It’s almost done!
May 11, 2025 at 2:52 AM
Well, chess set supports v2 are done. These are side braces that grab onto both shelves. The measurements are really close, and the plexiglass isn’t stiff like the glass (though much safer) so it sags and needs supports on the very middle top.

I have two more supports to print to extend left.
May 11, 2025 at 2:51 AM
Here’s the test prints in blue PLA (I had a lot of it) tweaking the design and measurements because I suck at math and measuring things, but they give the idea of what’s coming.
May 8, 2025 at 4:30 AM
So I iterated on a design in Tinkercad I made myself that anchors between the upper and lower shelves to be very very secure. The bottom pieces overlap the metal bars and everything slides together with dovetail joints. They use more PETG though, so I’ll be printing them for days.

I’m printing supports for a way to display chess sets I’ve collected over the last 20 years. I printed some I found online, set up some of them, and then got scared of how this approach would FAIL in an earthquake….

I made this dry box. It keeps the filament - dry. Like 10% RH dry.

I tweaked a design I found online and had to practice a technique for cutting the holes with a wood drill bit.

I’m unreasonably proud of myself.
