Thrilled to share that my postdoc research is published today in @science.org! We found that DNA repair uses cohesin complexes to build new chromatin loops that guide the homology search and boost accurate repair! 1/n

Cohesin drives chromatin scanning during the RAD51-mediated homology search
Cohesin folds genomes into chromatin loops, the roles of which are under debate. We found that double-strand breaks (DSBs) induce de novo formation of chromatin loops in human cells, with the loop bas...

Check out our new preprint! (: Lead by the incredible Jonghan Park in TJ Ha's lab.

Here, we explore how DNA stores and encodes information via its mechanical properties, rather than via base pairs, and how those properties can be selected for!

Delighted to share my latest work, co-first authored with fantastic undergrad mentee Joshua Lee, on highly entangled hydrogels with photolabile crosslinks. We compare selective crosslink cleavage (which lengthens chains) to non-selective photo-oxidative degradation. pubs.rsc.org/en/content/a...

The stiffness of cells and their nuclei is a biomarker of several pathologies, yet is usually reduced to a single value. In our last paper, we propose a method to estimate heterogeneous maps of stiffness inside freely moving cells using only fluorescence imaging.
