Airports are one of the more dispiriting places that people gather. Lots are so sad to be leaving, lots are anxious about flying, many are happily returning, but everyone just wants to get out of there.

And, I would suggest, it does. I’m so pleased to not be an American, so much happening there that is hard to fathom.

In their minds it has always been. I’ve not been in the USA since 2014, however those I met were friendly, courteous and profoundly parochial. Also incredibly uninformed about anything outside their borders.
