Forty years ago, today, the Space Shuttle Challenger exploded in mid air after being launched, killing all 7 crew members; one was a school teacher. It was a sad day for space travel & history.

Not sure why I've always liked this photo. It was taken on an early morning bicycle ride on July 4th, maybe ten years ago. I had just come around a curve and this image greeted me. The trees have since been removed for a new home build.

Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers.
This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.
