The critical point every financial advisor guru moron won't tell you is:

"past performance is no guarantee of future returns"

if I was investing based on past performance, I can buy Bitcoin, why would I buy the S&P?

Post your opinions under your real name

If you can't, are you really free?

Anyone else jot down the weather when taking notes?

I usually do date/time/weather/location/project every time I start a new notebook page

It’s fun to go back and see where I was over the year

You're seeing a serious drop in keywords being indexed

it's a pattern I'm noticing across the board

any SEO experts know what's going on?

I miss the times when the only people in tech were 100% nerds and didn't care at all about money

Today, most people in tech are closer to bankers and politicians

Not many businesses can resist changing

Updating the "brand" to look relevant

Or monetizing their your loss leaders

HackerNews did neither

Takes leadership and courage to do this

Most companies can't

Design is more universal than people think

Like this subway, which combines the disciplines of engineering, architecture and graphic design

Can't make this happen without them all working together

You see this in software too

Good software is made by multi-disciplinary teams

Ferrari designers somehow always manage to make a generation defining poster car.

Crazy how well balanced these look. Somehow both analog and digital. Futuristic, but also legacy Ferrari.

I think this one is just as iconic as the F40, Enzo & La Ferrari.

We don't think about this much, but IKEA kept the same front cover for 26 years

And it's such a powerful way to stamp their brands in our heads

Year over year, seeing the same cover layout, becoming used to the consistency and looking forward to it

Humans love human scale cities

Cars love car scale cities

Can you feel the difference between in warmth when you compare interiors which use natural materials like wood instead of synthetics?

I have a theory that cafes that use natural materials make more money

The Chapel Coffee Shop in Romania

I love when design turns almost nothing into something

Like this gap between two buildings

has now become iconic

Probably the prettiest car ever made

Do you know who made it?

Nerds do this thing where they find the differences between things and tell you about them, no matter how minor

It is our best and worst quality

Stack Overflow founders Jeff Atwood and Joel Spolsky sold to Prosus for $1.8B on June 2021.

They could not have timed this better.

This is a hard product to sell

Your competitor is a $2 notepad that is even more paper like than your $729 tablet

Can't argue that it's a cool product tho
