It's Sami. His name is a concatenation of the phrase "Sakura mimi" which is a Japanese term that refers to the clipped ear rescue cats over here get. If you look really close at a sakura petal you'll see it too is clipped.

More #hydrangeas but this time at a Japanese garden known as Ichijo Ekan Sanso in #Kamakura. This was taken last week, unfortunately due to the hotter and drier than usual rainy season, most of the hydrangeas I see these days are wilting.

More #hydrangeas from Kamakura. These were taken a few days ago but I hear the drier than usual rainy season is making these wilt faster than usual. In my local neighborhood these have largely gone.

It is supposed to be the rainy season at the moment but recently a lot of people have been taken to hospital for heatstroke so it's best to be careful from now on until Autumn.

Well, I become a dad at the end of March/start of April so I've been interested recently in seeing examples of #parenting and came across this nice father-son interaction while exploring #yokohama. A cold day but warm at the same time.

When going to Japan it makes sense to eat Japanese food BUT I highly recommend making a stop at #yokohama #chinatown for some good street food if time allows. 😍

I took this in a dark corner of a lovely Japanese garden called #rikugien in Tokyo. The bird (A heron?) just calmly stood on a rock only several meters away and didn't seem to mind all the people walking past.

Well, the #autumn leaves have pretty much all finally fallen in #tokyo. Forgotten among them was this children's camera toy I found. Kind of surprised to see a wooden toy, I didn't think they were still popular.

I did some #photography of ginkgo leaves in #Shinjuku to try and capture the #autumn colors. It's probably the peak right now, there's so many people just having a good time under these leaves, taking photos, having picnics, playing with their kids etc.

Here's a photo I took during an #Autumn walk in #rikugien. It's a Japanese garden located in #tokyo. I saw this tea house surrounded by some yellow leaves and thought it must be so cozy to enjoy some tea from within, looking outside.
