Also I saw folks posting lemon pigs, so here is a photo from our new year's party, with many thanks to @adrianricker.bsky.social for organizing the craft section of the night. Every time I look at our pigs, I am filled with delighted laughter.

2024 was a wild ride for me, art-wise. It's like I couldn't sit still with one medium. Pins, gouache, watercolor, painted sculptures, digital. A real jack-of-all-trades year for me. Maybe I'll settle down with one type of art this year (lol maybe).

I've not been great at posting on socials (again) (sorry) (it happens a lot). Here's a quick catch up on the projects I've been focusing on the last few months: tiger masks (little sister and big sister), and shishi guardian lion dogs. Epoxy clay with acrylic paints!

Had the pleasure of presenting at a local K-8 school with @benfisher.bsky.social on how to make comics. The kids were great and offered fun ideas, and as usual Ben's comedic timing landed perfectly.
The school also made an amazing sign for their readathon and also made us a welcome sign 😭😭😭

Second portrait all done! I can't wait to see the two of them together in their frames. Love the contrast between a proper kitty and a good kitty 💖 Definitely some of my favorite portraits yet.

Working on my largest physical commission yet-- 20" x 14"! There will be two paintings total, made with gouache & watercolor on cotton paper. The paintings will be in gold oval frames. My commissioner wants to be a surprised but she's not on this platform sooooooo I can actually share stuff 💖

Okay I'm posting my goals for next year so I feel peer pressured to actually complete them (oh no, there are witnesses). I tried to be loose with them, knowing if I'm more restrictive then it'll lead to me dropping off.

It's hard to fight the intrusive thoughts and negative internal monologue, and sometimes it's too easy to just walk away. Take it easy on yourself!
Also, it IS funny to me that my lack of motivation to draw... motivated me to draw this comic 🙃

Messing around with Procreate again. I'm really enjoying making mirrored backgrounds, since I can just turn off the ol' noggin and lay down lines. This one felt particularly romantic, so threw in a Klimt-inspired kiss.

I don't have anything new for #portfolioday so here are sketches of dog-son. I've been trying to maintain a pen-only sketchbook to try and get away from all drawings feeling precious. It's been good practice but not something I want to show off all the time 🙃
