Today I got to touch a meteorite, look at dino fossils & recreations, touch a megalodon tooth, dig up fossils & more w/my kiddos @thefossilpark.bsky.social #EFM

If you live in the Philly/NJ area I HIGHLY recommend it! Especially if you have kids or any interest in science. Seriously awesome!!

You know your family is from Philly when your 6yo see this at the zoo and immediately belts out "FLY EAGLES FLY" loudly and with enthusiasm!

Me: I'm gonna take a break from the news/doomscrolling and flip through my alumni magazine, see if there are any updates from people I remember

My kiddos think my shirt should read "Trolls just wanna have funding for science" and I say sure! We need a big tent!

Was driving by Rep. Fitzpatrick's district office and decided to stop in and pass along my message of thanks for his no vote last night to his staff in person. Urged him to vote no on the full bill

Call your Reps! They need to hear from you!

I told kiddo #1 she could pick & cook recipes for a dinner this week from 1 of her cookbooks. She chose 1 pot pasta & sauce w/ turkey meatballs from ATK. I helped w/the meatballs b/c she's not so sure about raw meat (mom is a microbiologist and it shows) but she did the rest. All from scratch 😊

Which is how kiddo #1 came to buy a 2nd copy of this book, but her new copy is a gorgeous illustrated edition

She then decided I should read her old copy and we will have a book club. I am so ON IT!! Cannot wait for our first book club meeting :)

Laughed at my spouse tonight for reaching the age where sneezing hard made his back hurt all day (he laughed w/me!)

So my body is putting me in my place. Current status: heating pad on my neck, trying to find a comfortable way to hold my book far enough away so I can read the tiny ass print lolsob

Wandered around @gfs-nj.bsky.social yesterday afternoon & evening. We were stopped multiple times by strangers of all walks of life insisting we head down this or that path to see the sculpture & scenery they'd just discovered.

What a delight to be w/other people sharing their joy in beauty & art

Apparently kiddo #1 also picked up this sticker for me for mother's day. Shout out to the Commonplace Reader in Yardley, PA for a great selection of books & stickers for all ages 😍

Kiddo #1 (with my help, she's 9) made her great-grandmother's cake recipe for us to have on mother's day tomorrow. I'm not crying you're crying

Every single time my kiddos ask for an outdoor birthday party, Mother Nature challenges me to a game of chicken. Every single time

OK. I don't like April Fool's day but this is pretty good. Every single poster on the 2nd floor of our building turned upside down overnight

The way my kiddo's eyes lit up when she realized I was making chicken noodle soup and that I was making it because she's getting over being sick.... Being a mom is hard work but days like today it makes my heart so full
