So looking forward to reading this, especially Wilkerson’s analysis of how caste intersected with the rise of the Nazis. That’s going to be quite a read given the recent neo-Nazi marches in Sydney and Melbourne, and the msm’s inability to comprehend how rich and educated people can be nazis.

My local library got a copy of Extraction from @triofrancos.bsky.social — it starts with a description of the Atacama desert and salt flats in Chile and how a colonial narrative of emptiness justified extraction of mineral wealth. Made me dig out an old photo album from 2002 when I was there.

Just picked up Neneh Cherry’s autobiography at the local library. Very excited to delve in.

Yeah I dunno, maybe if I was creating a government document I might hide the fact I’d used ChatGPT to find the information.

How lovely are these photos of sea urchins? Taken by marine scientist Dr Anders Hallan. Some of his photos have appeared in National Geographic and now he’s making prints.

March and rally today in Gadigal land to celebrate First Nations culture, resistance, and sovereignty. Organised by the Blak Caucus in response to the nazi rallies a few weeks ago. The smoke is from the sacred fire. #AlwaysWasAlwaysWillBe

March organised by Blak Caucus against the continued rise of racism, fascism and white supremacy, the attack by Neo-Nazis on Camp Sovereignty and anti-immigration attacks. Gadigal Country will gather on September 13, 12pm at Hyde Park to make it clear: sovereignty was never ceded.

It’s the wettest Sydney has been since the weather station opened in 1858. Thank goodness for the modern convenience of covered netball courts!

These “Bourgeois Anglos for Palestine” will be similarly surprised

So many people marching for Palestine that we didn’t even make it across the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Way over 100,000 people, demonstrating just how out of step our politicians are with the wishes of the people. #FreePalestine
