The radio box has sat mostly unused for the past week, and not much for the week before that. It's complicated, but it's definitely not lack of interest. Just some other priorities.

Today I ran another practice 5K. Got a PR of 43:55. Not too shabby, after a fairly rough night last night, a busy day helping the wife with a craft show and doing some chores, and then not even really feeling up to running. But I ran.

Pretended to be a runner in short spurts. The day I run a full mile will be such a victory. But it seems so so far away. Dunno if I'll ever get there. A 10 minute mile seems like Mt. Everest right now.

I'm not much of a runner. Heck, I'm 57 freaking years old. I'm hoping to finish my 5K in 45 minutes and be laughed at by little old blue haired ladies.
But I did accomplish this goal tonight... AFTER 1.5 hours of tennis.

It's just a fact that my little $130 truSDX does some things better than the Yaesu FT100 that would cost $500 or so. Not everything, but some.

I guess my little Inverted Vees aren't totally lame. Admittedly, these are reverse beacons, not contacts, but my contacts basically match up.

Well, I did set up a radio on the beach and I did send CW and hear CW. I did not make contacts, but RBN did hear me, even tho it shows me at home still. FT8 did not work. I love the mode but can't depend on it. No POTA yet. Was in hunter mode but couldn't copy well enough.

Set up / "built" a 30m EFHW from QRPGuys and put it up as a sloper in the yard. I think it's working, at least on FT8...
