Some pictures from my attempted ride to Minnewaska this morning. Got up at 5am to take the train to Poughkeepsie where it was 2C. I didn’t complete the whole loop because it was very icy up on the ridge, but still a really nice day to ride a bicycle!
My gravel bike leaning at the side of the trail against a tree. None of the trees have leaves yet. View of the ridge from down near New Paltz. A gravel trail crosses a dry grass field. The ridge is pretty high up! There are some scattered clouds in a very blue sky. Starting a long sustained 8% climb. The trail has trees to either side, most of which are bare. More climbing now with snow in the gutters. You can see the trail is quite muddy too, which made climbing fun but difficult.

Making scalloped potatoes pray for me
Just after adding the tarragon, potatoes, and THREE CUPS of heavy cream. A large saucepan is on a stove with a wooden spoon ready to stir. Garlic, leeks, onion, potato, tarragon, and cream are all cooking. The potato slices have absorbed a bunch of cream and are in a lasagna pan along with the seasonings, ready to go into the oven.
