Avatar: Fire and Ash delivers another epic adventure for fans as the visuals, acting, some of the characters, action set pieces, cinematography, production design, score and direction carry this film despite a weak story and script and a long run time it has. Fans will like it more though. 6/10.

The Housemaid is kinda both cringe while entertaining at the same time as the plot, writing, illogical moments, and runtime drag this film down while the acting, directing, second half, designs, and campy tone makes it up. It is not for me, but I think I know who it’s target audiences is for. 6/10.

The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants is a harmless kids movie that kids will enjoy more than longtime SpongeBob fans with the animation, humor, characters, and voice acting were serviceable enough to overcome the recycle plot and writing. I don’t find it bad but it is harmless enough. 6/10.

It: Welcome to Derry is a decent series despite some problems it has like the writing, visuals, and tone for example although the cast, scares, direction, score, characters, and some of the commentary do make it up to be okay at best. It probably fans of the movies that will like this more. 6.5/10.

Ella McCay is an awkward poorly constructed film that resulted a mess throughout. From the plot, writing, directing, characters, humor, subplots, and frustrating moments which none of the cast can save this movie. While it is James L. Brooks’s first movie in years, but he delivered a bad one. 4/10.

Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is worst than the first film in how it went even more dumber and made more exclusive for fans only. The story, writing, characters, acting, scares, kills, dumb moments, and directing didn’t improve one bit despite the animatronics were the best parts throughout. 3/10.

Hamnet is a well made beautiful film that will likely get people to cry at the end. While I don’t think it amazing that people said it is, but the cast, directing, characters, cinematography, designs, score, and emotional moments were great throughout to make this film a strong contender. 8/10.

Sentimental Value is a superb emotional film that I will put down as one of the best films of the year. From the story, writing, directing, cast, characters, themes, cinematography, editing, and emotional moments, it makes this movie absolutely terrific throughout. Highly recommended! 9/10.

Jay Kelly is a decent film that I would put it on the good category. I think the familiar plot and some weak characters doesn’t do it for me, but the cast, directing, cinematography, score, humor, and emotional depth do make it up to be a good movie overall. Not great but good on it own level. 7/10.

Wake Up Dead Man is another solid addition of the Knives Out movies. While the mystery itself feel more complicated along with characters feeling weaker than previous films, the cast, directing, tone, humor, cinematography, themes, and editing is what makes this one another great film. 8/10.

Zootopia 2 is a worthy follow up to the original 2016 film. While I don’t think it as fresh as the first film, but the animation, characters, voice acting, humor, themes, direction, score, and heart is what made this sequel a great film. Fans of the original will definitely have a blast! 8/10.

Hedda is a passable experience but likely won’t remember much. I didn’t get myself engaged with the story, writing, themes, and characters, but the technical aspects like designs and cinematography and acting is what make this film to me looks decent at best. 6/10.

Sisu: Road to Revenge is a fun action sequel that took what made the original film work and make it twice the fun. Over the top? Sure. The action scenes, performances by the main leads, direction, kills, and some emotional moments is what make the sequel even better the original. 8/10.

Rental Family is a cozy sweet movie that audiences will definitely get into. Sure I find the plot predictable along with lean too much on heart moments, but the cast including Brendan Fraser, cinematography, directing, characters, and score make it up to be a decent film to watch. 7/10.

It Was Just an Accident is an outstanding movie. From the story, writing, directing, cast, characters, themes, cinematography, stressful moments, and a chilling ending that is so good that ends making it as one of the best films of this year. Highly recommended! 9/10.

Wicked: For Good delivers an emotional conclusion even though it is not as great as the first film. It repeat similar problems with Act II but the cast, production and costumes, musical, themes and emotional beats make it up to be a good film that Wicked fans are looking forward to seeing. 7/10.

The Running Man (2025) is not only a poor take of the Stephen King novel, but it is Edgar Wright’s weakest film due to plot, writing, tone, and pacing being inconsistent along with thin characters. Cast, action scenes, visuals, and production design were at least decent for most of the film. 6/10.

In Your Dreams is a frustratingly mixed bag animated film from Netflix which it tries to tackle themes of divorce but with mixed results. The plot, writing, characters, and humor weren’t all that great, but the animation, voice acting, heart, and themes makes up for from being a bad. 5.5/10.

Now You See Me: Now You Don’t is fine for what it is as I do fine it repetitive with the plot along with weak writing. The good parts like the cast, visual style, and production design for example is what carry this film on it’s own. This is not for me, but I can see fans enjoying it more. 6/10.

Now You See Me 2 is weaker than the first film due to convoluted plot and a weak script despite the cast, the visual style, production values, and magic scenes too it had. Jon M. Chu is also weak as he didn’t direct this sequel very well but overall, this one feels the same but worse. 5/10.

Now You See Me is a decent popcorn flick that audiences like it more than critics. The plot, writing characters, and the twist towards the end holds it back from liking it but the cast, direction, visual style, heist scenes, and production values is makes it up in being decent for what it is. 6/10.

The Running Man from 1987 is a fun crowd pleasing action film despite being loosely based from the Stephen King novel. It is over the top and the effects doesn’t age well, but thanks to the cast, action scenes, production and costumes, and some tie in themes, it makes it work for what it is. 7/10.

Little Amélie or the Character of Rain is not only cute, but it is one of the year’s best animated films thanks to the story, animation, heart, direction, themes, voice acting, characters, and tone it has to make this film very cute to watch. Highly recommended for families and animation fans! 8/10.
