Tax cuts for the wealthy helped blow holes in the budget but aren't the whole story. National debt comes from wars, recessions, covid spending, rising health care costs, interest payments, and a Congress that refuses to match spending with revenue.

If term limits were were in place this would never have happened. We have way too much wasted talent in this country as a result. Lifetime elected’s are a detriment to democracy. To many uninformed Americans vote by name recognition.
