Susie King Taylor: Nurse, Teacher, War Hero. She IS Black History ✨
She was born into slavery in 1848. At age 7, she was allowed to live with her free grandma, Grandma Dolly. Her grandma did not know how to read and write, but she saw the value in both. She encouraged Susie to learn.
