Die Ameisenbläulings-Schlupfwespe Neotypus melanocephalus ist der spezifische Parasitoid des Dunklen Wiesenknopf-Ameisenbläuling (Phengaris nausithous), und seiner Schwesterart, des Hellen W.-A. (P. teleius).
Durch diese Abhängigkeit ist die Art noch stärker gefährdet.
