Exactly! They think they are the bipartisan dream, when the reality is, they are just making it easier for the far right extremism to spread. They make the democratic party appear weak and divided (which unfortunately it seems we are.) 😭

Maybe take all this energy you have to argue and direct it toward the real enemy. You don't have to agree with me, but we are fighting the same fight in our own ways.

Simply boycotting the event wouldn't have had the same affect. It would have just created a massive echochamber for them to celebrate their "successes" with zero opposition.

You can and should have both scenarios. It takes a community of movers and shakers to change the current situation. There are people who are doing good work like what you quoted to shut down his advances, but you do need people making noise and protesting too.

We should absolutely be rethinking our approaches and showing solidarity with those who have the courage to stand up. For years we have tried to play it safe and quiet and look where that got us. We should not be giving these extremists more room to strut about as untouchable.

This administration doesn't give a damn about rules and in 6 weeks they have made significant moves to dismantle every aspect of government including all their beloved "rules and traditions", so why should we enforce the rules that they themselves do not follow?
