Okay. Here’s one of the things I go out back & watch when I am reminded of the govt’s fuckery: Mama Turkey & her babies grabbing snacks under our bird feeder. 15 Oct 2025, Ann Arbor.

Me & my son in 2005. Here, we had been living in Manhattan for a month. He turned 20 here in Ann Arbor a week ago today. When we left NYC, for years he most wanted to take his beloved C Train to Central Park. Our apartment was at 30th & 9th, & it was so awesome living in the city. We loved it.

We spent the past week in Ludington, MI. The beach was STUNNING on @lakemichigan13.bsky.social . For the finale of our trip, yesterday this amazing, elegant kite was shared with everyone by a tiny, adorable kid (with help from a grown-up). Magic.

We were in Traverse City for a minute, & I was reminded that I’ve always preferred sunrises over sunsets.

Okay. I’m so utterly horrified at what’s being done to the most vulnerable among us that I have to share a moment when bringing in our trash cans from the street this morning. 1st pic = my shoes included for scale + speck. 2nd = said “speck.” PROTECT THE VULNERABLE… 14 July 2025, Ann Arbor

Before he was recruited by #NOAA, my dad was a professor for a hot minute. This is his retractable chalk-thingy. It’s busted, but I want the world to see it before I recycle it. I would’ve loved this while teaching in grad school—yes, yes, I taught with chalk & that is what we old people did.

My husband made a shit-ton of pesto—which we freeze for the winter & spring months. Plus, that batch of basil was only about 1/2 of what’s in our garden rn. Friends, it tastes magical. And look how pretty!
