Gotta love watching the evening news and trying to explain to my 7yo why POTUS dropped the f-bomb. Kiddo said it sounds like he needs to go to his room and chill out. I could not agree more.

Republicans can’t meet their own budget target without cutting Medicare or Medicaid, budget office says - NBC News

Now is the time to relentlessly speak up and push the facts. The mass media educated the public on the impact of tariffs on their daily life. Now let’s do Medicare/Medicaid cuts. Go!

March is crazy. Yesterday it was sunny and 60 degrees and today Trump is trying to abolish the Dept of Education.

This is a very important thread ⬇️
Listen, Broligarchy is not some cute synonym for oligarchy. It's genuinely different & WAY more dangerous.

I'm a sociologist who's been studying the ultra-rich globally for 17 yrs, entering their world as an offshore wealth mgr. Published 2 books abt them.

🧵Broligarchs are distinct in 3 ways:
There’s a sort of Trump apologist, a relatively small but loud subset, who probably don’t realize or intend to be, but are so attached to a previous hyperbolic claim that they deny anything important changed.

-US was already an oligarchy
-US was already fascist
-Biden gave Israel a blank check
-Etc

I remember watching the J6 riots. Couldn’t work, couldn’t focus, just paralyzed watching an insurrection. Now here we are experiencing a coup and just sitting on Teams calls like nothing is happening. Absolutely surreal.

The cognitive dissonance of getting up every morning and making coffee and walking the dog and going to meetings and answering emails and wondering what to make for dinner while there is a real live actual coup d’etat happening is BONKERS

Decided to take a cruise this week - our first as a family. Getting off the ship in Roatan today and my 6YO says “mom, these people don’t have an easy life, do they?”

Husband is traveling for work and 6YO wants nothing more to sleep in our room. Extra snuggles. I’ll take all I can get because before I know if the 6YO will be 16.

Anyone else struggling to get into the Christmas spirit? Normally this is my favorite time of year. But…Our elf hasn’t returned from the North Pole, I didn’t bother with train tickets for the North Pole Express. Maybe half the decorations have made it out.

This season just feels meh so far.

Lucky enough to spend Thanksgiving with family where the only political discussion is what we need to do to prep for the next 4 years. 🦃
