In July, we added a new member to our family, and what better time than spooky season to introduce our little Fenrir, destroyer of worlds!

S&S has launched a romance-forward New Adult imprint, and I am one of the many editors across the S&S Children’s division who is now also acquiring for Scarlett Press! In addition to my kids/teen list, I’m seeking high stakes NA romantasy & thrillers with plenty of spice, yearning, and tension.

It’s official—All the Tomorrows After by Joanne Yi is not only an Indies Introduce, it’s also an Indies Next Pick! I am so grateful for all the Indie love for this gorgeous book 🥰

As a former caregiver, I used to be someone who shied away from books that touched upon grief and terminal illness. But Joanne Yi’s prose was so beautiful and compelling, I couldn’t resist. This novel broke my heart and rebuilt it all over again and I’m thrilled it’s a Book of the Month selection 💕

what a week - I hope everyone is taking care and being extra kind to yourself. A phrase that’s particularly been on my mind these days…

I grew up in California never experiencing a real winter, so now, in Colorado, I’m always in awe when the plants in my garden return to life in the spring. Like, this blueberry plant looked dead, was a bunch of dry sticks, and now it’s green and alive again!!! 🤯

Taco cat wasn’t feeling well the other day, so she had to get an ultrasound from the vet. And now it looks like she has a cool, punk-y undercut

Words from dansavage.bsky.social that brought me a lot of comfort, so I made a pretty graphic - keep dancing, folks ❤️

Post a pet pic! Or a photo of whatever is giving you comfort and joy during these turbulent times?

Obligatory cozy cat pic of Taco in her blanket fort (which she demands I make for her nearly everyday).

I’ve been searching for something that gives me Knives Out and Never Have I Ever vibes for what feels like forever now, so how excited am I to be working with Dinesh on this YA murder mystery/rom-com mash-up! Perfect for fans of Dial A for Aunties, this had me cackling throughout the whole read.

It’s more important now than ever to kindle sparks of joy. And plants are hope, “a dream of what will be” to use a line from my author, Teresa Rodrigues. It’s winter right now, in many ways, & my indoor orange tree has been blossoming for the first time ever—a promise of bright fruit in spring.

With all the turmoil in the world, it’s likely cozy fantasy will trend in the years ahead. I’m not the right editor for low stakes fantasy, but PoF is a good example of the type of cozy I like. It has high stakes & dark magic but it still feels like a warm hug due to the loving relationships in it

Today I’m thinking of those for whom the holidays carry weight—those who have lost someone and those who have complicated feelings towards their families of origin. Sharing some kitty love with you all 💕

Ooh that’s a tough question! If you’re asking which cover of the books I’ve edited is my favorite, I definitely can’t decide, but I think the most recently published, Prince of Fortune by @lisatirrenoauthor.bsky.social, has a stellar design. And then for Adult, my answer is a bit cheeky, sorry:

Hi new followers! I’m a children’s/YA book editor, ex-private investigator (my pre-publishing life), Capricorn, incorrigible queer.

I mostly ramble, muse, and post about books, queer topics, plants/gardening, my cats. (For the record, I also love dogs. I go both ways - in more ways than one 😀)

My two kitties Taco and Zetta are actually using the hammock my partner and I built them now that we’ve stuffed it with a blanket they like, and idk how it brings me so much comfort to see them so snug and happy. It must be cat magic 💕

The First Week of School by Drew Beckmeyer is an Amazon Best Book of the Year! This had a lot of moving pieces to it, so I’m extra thrilled to see all the hard work being recognized. Congrats to Drew! Kudos to art director Greg Stadnyk and our production team Kaitlyn San Miguel & Tatyana Rosalia

More than a year after it was first published, The Bellwoods Game by Celia Krampien hit the NYT bestseller list last week! This is one of the books I got to work on early in my career, adopted from OG editor @alexborbolla.bsky.social. Art design by Lauren Rille. Congrats to Celia & the whole team!🎉
