Mabel was skeptical about reading a novel in verse, especially one in translation, but Aednan by Linnea Axelsson is as gorgeous as you've probably heard it is. A good book to read during the quiet winter break with plenty of time to think. I love it; Mabel is coming around to it.

Today Mabel and I are reading Wittgenstein's Nephew by Thomas Berhard. She's not a fan of its lack of paragraph breaks; I maintain its a structural choice to keep the reader engaged with the narrator's thoughts. It's only about 100 pages, Mabel. Stick with it.
