This is an interesting one. The flavor is smooth and eggy with a hint of spice. I was surprised with the addition of what tastes like an artificial alcohol flavor- this is a great option if you like something that tastes boozy but is not alcoholic. 4.5/5, this is a slammable nog.

To say I was disappointed by this eggnog is a vast understatement. It had all the visual trappings of a stellar nog but tasted only of watered down milk and stale cinnamon. This would be more suited as an addition to a french toast batter than a beverage. 2/10, an overall sad nog.

Following this up with the “original” version of this eggnog- it has essentially the same texture and general flavor, but is lacking any spices and generally leans towards a vanilla taste, which I personally don’t prefer. 3.5/5- while an acceptable nog, it left me wanting.

Tis the season! Today we’re trying Upstate Farm’s premium egg nog. I was pleasantly surprised with this one- a light eggy flavor with enough spice to keep it interesting for the palate. I wish it were thicker, but otherwise this is a solid choice for the discerning nog head. 4/5.

A variant of the above, this eggnog definitely hits the vanilla notes but desperately needs more nutmeg and cinnamon. Smooth, velvety texture with a good thickness, but the vanilla lends itself to a bit of a cloying sweetness that impacts its drinkability. 3/5, a serviceable nog.

Southern Comfort’s definitely got the texture and egg/cream balance down on this, but the spicing leaves a lot to be desired. Virtually no nutmeg or cinnamon, which disappointed me as I expected more from this eggnog. 3.5/5 while it’ll do in a pinch, this nog leaves me wanting.

I had extremely low expectations on this but was pleasantly surprised! Reminiscent of drinking slightly thinned pumpkin pie filling, but in a good way. It doesn’t give that classic eggnog flavor but it was definitely a fun and unique take on nog. 4/5 we stan a pumpkin spice king.

So this one’s odd. It has a fairly standard eggnog flavor but tastes artificial and far too sweet, with an almost menthol like aftertaste? If your nog vaguely reminds me of smoking cigarettes in college then it’s not very good imo. 2/5, this nog left me confused and disappointed.

Tis the freakin season!!! This nog from Hood is very good- a classic, balanced eggnog flavor with fairly pronounced notes of cinnamon and a hint of nutmeg. Consistency is nice, if a tiny bit thinner then I’d like. Overall, 4/5 you can have little a bit of this nog as a treat.

Back on my bullshit!!! This eggnog from Nellie’s is interesting- it is very eggy, creamy, and rich, and I was impressed by the taste! No cinnamon or nutmeg flavor detectable, which was disappointing. Very drinkable with a sweet finish. 4/5, this will satisfy any nog lover.

AUTHOR’S NOTE: As the years have passed I have noticed that this brand’s eggnog seems to have a vintage much like wine, with each year’s batch having a variety of thicknesses, egg-to-cream ratio, and overall flavor profile (for better or worse).

A local nog this time, from South Mountain Creamery. This tastes like I’m drinking straight up cream in the best way? Not too sweet, a little light on the nutmeg and cinnamon, but very rich overall with a good flavor. 4.5/5 would get fucked up on this anytime throughout the year.

This is a horrid nog!!! Incredibly watery, virtually no flavor except a bitter and overwhelming hit of nutmeg that clashes with the almond milk. Could only take one sip of this it was so bad. 1/5 for this absolutely cursed nightmare beverage.
