VACCINES SAVE LIVES

Vaccines ended the COVID-19 pandemic.

Vaccines and other public health measures save the lives of millions of children worldwide.

Do not let RFKJr and the Trump admin take us back to a time when 5 in 10 children died before the age of 5.

Infectious diseases killed Victorian children at alarming rates — their novels highlight the fragility of public health today
Between 40% and 50% of children didn’t live past 5 in the US during the 19th century. Popular authors like Charles Dickens documented the common but no less gutting grief of losing a child.

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office.

Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc.

Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

I think I've found a way to articulate what bothers me about the trajectory of the modern tech industry (and to some extent... society).

We are on this Earth to provide for each other. That's the "mission" of humanity as I see it.

This is incompatible with what the tech industry seeks to do.

We only know this man is in Gitmo because Noem tweeted a propaganda photo that included him and his sister saw it. He has no criminal record. He entered the US in January and immediately made an appointment with CBP to claim asylum. They sent him to a concentration camp bc of his basketball tattoo.

Me: idk, I feel like the Samuel L. Jackson bits were maybe too heavyhanded, we don’t need the subtext spelled out for us, the audience is smarter than that

Libraries are the best. I just placed holds on 17 books of crochet patterns and stitches 😌

This is your reminder that libraries are a great place to find resources for hobbies - some even have beginner kits (like yarn, needles/hooks) you can take out to get started!

Hey #Booksky if you’re in the US and looking to step away from the zon for physical books can I highly recommend Thrift Books?

They donate and partner with non-profits to support school libraries in underserved areas, and prison libraries. Plus, the book prices are *very good*
