(Unironically people have always been saying kh2 but I find the idea of a re:com fandub funnier just from the smaller scope and all the scenes that's just an idle conversation in a room.)

That's fair! It was just a note on my personal experience. Like when I talk about published trans sapphic representation I've seen I still mean indie comics and whatnot.

We're seen as the default, which leaves for a lot of minor characters like Angel, or a tertiary character in a long running manga and stuff. But I think it also leads to the broader queer community focusing on the less visible sapphics and tguys instead.

Not to start/imply discourse but if anything, when I first went to libraries and bookstores to find stories about people like me I found that even the very few transfem centered stories in the queer section were primarily sapphic

Unironically what finally pushed me to seriously reexamine and crack my egg was someone in a completely random place on reddit describing agp and how it's a common pseudoscientific and transphobic excuse to push onto trans people experiencing normal sexual desires. Read it and went "wait that's me-"

The issue is that trans women can qualify for sports with that rule. To bigots, this is too far and not enough because they're definitely sure that trans women are just men who are inherently stronger than women. Their feelings and gut reads on how gender works is worth more than evidence.

I think that's also the point bites makes. That we weren't trans women by that point but repressors, which doesn't have to mean men. It's The Secret Third Thing(tm) queer socialization

Like there are a lot of commonalities, people are right about that. But there's still a fundamental difference between a detrans cis woman and a trans woman because of society's relationship to cissexism. Not just whether a woman's appearance matches society's standards for femininity and womanhood.

I think the big issue with this framing is that while people are right that a detrans cis woman has similar needs and problems as a trans woman, society will always favour one over the other.

I think uplifting detrans voices in the name of transfeminism is kinda stupid but I also think I got put on a blocklist after the straggot discourse so I've only seen the screenshots complaining about the lack of gatekeeping and none of the explanations.
