Almost 70 years since the first widely used inhaler and correct usage hovers around 30%. We need to develop patient-centric devices if we want better patient outcomes. #ERS2025

Spirometry is not enough to diagnose COPD. A found 50% of people with symptoms consistent with COPD yet normal lung function as measured by spirometry. We need to develop better tools to address the #DiagnosisDelay #ERS2025

Fascinating presentation from Prof Daiana Stolz. COPD starts decades before symptoms. We need better trackers of lung function over time. Did someone say 'lung health indicator'? Our work with @ukri.org is seeking to create this and end #DiagnosisDelay #ERS2025

Brilliant to see a session start with the patient experience: imagine being unable to walk and talk at the same time. That can be life with COPD. Here for the fight to change that. #ERS2025

This is what a lung with COPD looks like (right) compared to a normal lung. Fewer small branches on the lung 'tree' means it's significantly harder to breathe. #ERS2025

Huge advances in how we can identify which type of COPD someone has. The challenge is getting a diagnosis of COPD in the first place. #DiagnosisDelay #ERS2025
