VERY excited to receive my commission of Annet Mayer/Myer from El Viento/Ernest Evans/Annet Returns by the localization editor of the latter two games, @cargodin.bsky.social! Thank you so much!!

Best Dragon Quest I for the very first time. It was fun! Made it quite a ways into Dragon Warrior NES as a kid, but never really managed to crack the series otherwise, so I figured I’d start fresh.

The return trips to the castle can drag, but the game holds up, especially with the GBC conveniences!

Picked up Burning Force the other day, and there really is a special place in my heart for games that have the energy of an OVA.

This is a lovely article. It’s nice to be reminded that your collection doesn’t have to be filled what people SAY is good, but simply what you love.

Some of my least-played games are considered all-timers and some of my faves are certified 5/10s. Explore! Go beyond those popular online opinions!

I finally got the pickup cover off my Ric… please share these kickass tutorial vids.

3. My subtitle concerns aside, really glad that GKids gave this movie a theatrical release. It sings on the big screen.
4. These gifs and pics don’t do it justice, but I respect that everyone is so dripped out in this movie.
5. It’d be a joy to get to write a dub script for this.
6. Go watch it.

Heya, folks! Do you want to learn about the business side of being a voice actor? In a class taught by @tianacamacho.bsky.social? That has me as a class moderator? Well, I’ve got the class for you!

I really enjoy my curved Trinitron (a KV-27V42)! Part of the fun of a Trinitron is the specific curve to the Aperture Grille, IMO. The gentleman I bought mine from calibrated it in a way that has rather annoying and noticeable bowing, but I notice it less while scrolling than I do in fighters.

Picked up Street Fighter: Real Battle on Film for the Saturn and it’s a nifty little curio. Really clean FMV for the Saturn, Boxer is named “Balrog” in the Japanese version (for movie accuracy), and some neat takes on ST’s mechanics! The pre-rendered sprites… leave something to be desired, though.

I did! PSII and III definitely have a few rough edges that the PS2 collection helps to sand down, but IV holds up pretty dang well on the original cart! Encounter rate can get a little high toward the end, but I had a very good time with it.

Adjusted the purity on a 27” Trinitron today and I feel like a technological god even though I have very little idea what I’m doing.

I like the (maybe?) visual reference to Sonic CD on the “Attack from Behind” image!

After years of chipping away at them, my journey through the original Phantasy Star saga has come to a close. What an adventure!

I’m typically a “play games in whatever order you feel like” sort of guy, but Phantasy Star IV really does benefit from having played I and II (and even kinda III)!

I’m just gonna send it over without the filter here.

Not a great pic, but he’s like bottom-of-a-coffee-mug big! (Added the warning for any arachnophobes)

Had to take a stab at voicing this. (Please forgive the iPhone mic.)

I was just playing The Bourne Conspiracy the other day and thinking “boy I hope they don’t do this with the Bond game”…

Gruv had an anime sale, so I decided to pick up some of the shows I helped adapt! It’s just cool to own physical copies when so much anime work is digital right now. I’ve gotta make a “things I’ve worked on” shelf one of these days…

I’m not sure if I’m thrilled or mortified that my friends send me texts like this when we talk about what we’ve been playing lately.

My offscreen photos don’t do it justice (it looks great in motion) but I’m so impressed by the way Phantasy Star uses parallax and side scrolling to give this underground dungeon an overwhelming sense of scale.

You’re delving into the machinery that governs your world—you SHOULD feel insignificant.

Very excited to announce that I worked on the localization of Dynasty Warriors: Origins! Dynasty Warriors 3 was the first PS2 game I ever owned (I still have my old, beaten-up copy!), so getting to play in the Three Kingdoms and spend time with characters I love felt like coming home.

Breath of Fire 3 continues to be excellent.

Whenever these “your year in review” things come around, it just makes me think I should be spending more time playing video games and less time working on them.

Like, THESE are my most played Switch games in 2024? Great games, but those are ROOKIE NUMBERS.

First and most recent published games, huh? Well my first was a port of DS game that took a long time to finally get a release in the US, and my most recent was… uh oh.
