Because the revolution of 1789 was for constitutional monachy, that of 1792 was a major step towards a democratic republic (marred by women being denied the vote) while that of 1793 was a brutal authoritarian regime.

Why use a symbol of the terror that began in 1793 as if it was same movement as that which began in 1789?

You don't need a level of expertise to know that there are only two sexes beyond basic school biology.

I have never felt male and might well have been convinced to transition if that ideology had been around when I was young – at the cost of my health. But that's not the reason. I believe truth matters. That belief allowed the Radical Enlightenment to create democracy.

What the article does not say is that the limited acceptance of trans is linked to the persecution of persecution of homosexuals. It's a safety valve that allows gay men to escape death on condition of surgery.

Just because people believe something doesn't make it true. I have read people from the other side Judith Butler, Shon Faye etc & nowhere is there evidence that there is such a thing as gender identity. The move made is to challenge the existence of sex and then claim that what's left is gender ID.

That some people are attracted to people of their own sex is verifiable by the sex of the people they are attracted to. That it is impossible for mammals to change sex is basic biology. That doesn't give anyone the right to harass people who believe it but facts remain.

The survey is of people who sought medical treatment for gender dysphoria. Why are you so sure that it wasn't the treatment itself that increased suicidality?

If someone believes they are the opposite sex that is their affair. If they expect other people to agree then it is imposing on others a belief that is clearly false. Democracy can not survive if that becomes normal.

In the last 12 months, 47% of 324 divisions held in the Commons would have changed aye/no result, if seats matched votes -- including every vote on the budget resolutions.

That is, in these votes, opposing MPs represented more people but the government won anyway 🤷‍♂️
