Well, now time to spend my worktime hours listening to a bunch of albums from 1975. A bunch of my favorite albums came out this year, so I’m excited to dive in. Starting off, my favorite album from January is Bob Dylan’s Blood on the Tracks (same as many people, I would guess).

“Can I tell you something? I really don’t like REO Speedwagon. I know this is Kansas. I’ve just been thinking about it a lot, and I needed to tell you.” @satanoscillate.bsky.social

I’ve slowly started listening to a lot of albums from 1990, but my brain has been hurting so I haven’t been able to gather my thoughts. I’m currently at the end of February though - thoughts coming soonish.

So I recently listened to 150 albums from 1995 because I have a lot of time at work to listen to music, because I’m a 90s guy, and I wanted to gain some understanding for a year that is tricky to define musically. It was more fun than expected so I’m going back a decade to 1985.

Lori Beth Denberg reprised her All That librarian character to do a pro-library, anti-book banning reel and I love it so much??? www.instagram.com/reel/DIK0_bD...

This week I’ve been listening to a LOT of albums from 1995 - mainly to hopefully discover new (new to me) music, partially to break my streak of listening to nothing but Zeppelin bootlegs, because 1995 was 30 years ago (ugh), and also because it was a kind of odd year musically.

One of my all-time favorite games is Shining Force II. I’ve played it and replayed it many times over the last 25 or so years, and flawed as it can be, it’s such a fun game. On this latest playthrough, I got all the characters to the same level to compare their stats. I’d never done that before.

We all know Prince’s halftime show was great. I’ve been trying to figure out how to articulate, then, why it annoys me so to see all the white old heads bring it up every February. The answer is obvious, but it’s hard for me to put into words. You know the point I’m getting at, though.

Are the next 4 years really going to be logging on everyday to sentences like "a 19 year old doge intern called Big Balls has your social security number" because I'm already at capacity for this sort of thing
