Yeah, I'm realizing that she may be attributing the "problem" to a different source (social conditions over genetics) while still accepting the underlying assumptions that a "problem" exists, which I didn't pick up on when first reading her

I guess the most generous thing I can say is that she likely was unknowingly perpetuating the underlying assumptions of Malthus and other eugenicists while trying to create distance between herself and them, but that doesn't actually make it much better

I guess I always brushed off that aspect of her writings because she explicitly called out Malthus as wrong on the grounds that it was a social condition problem not a "earth lacking fertility" problem, but again, that's probably me being too charitable

Yeah I'm a lot less familiar with the actual content of those super early anarchists, and more with the responses of slightly later anarchists iterating on those. My personal favorites are Anarcho-syndicalism theory and practice by Rudolf Rocker and literally everything ever written by Emma Goldman
