A friend recently posted about torturing his preteen w/'90s music, knowing that in a few years, said kid will be bringing home vinyl & thinking he discovered various artists. As a parent of a just-shy-16-year-old, can confirm: She thinks she discovered Jeff Buckley, Shirley Manson, & Hope Sandoval.

My kid is obsessed with my "old CDs" now that she has seen "A Complete Unknown." From my home office, I can hear that she has hit upon a mix CD I made 20 years ago & is singing her head off. She got to hear Calexico live from a distance yesterday & was like, "Wait, what? I thought you were kidding."

Called my senators to thank them for having spines. As a lifelong D, I'm disgusted by the 10. Espcially Durbin, whom, as a former Illinoisan, I had admired. No longer. On their heads be it, though we're the ones who will suffer. Just despicable.
