It's an adaptation of another book in the same series! It's a little strange that Alain Delon and Dennis Hopper are playing the same character (and in different adaptations, John Malkovitch, Andrew Scott, Matt Damon...). Everyone does Ripley a little differently!

Well I've gotta vote American Friend, personally. Have you seen any other movies made of the Ripley book series like The Talented Mr Ripley, Purple Noon, Ripley's Game?
