I've been extremely happy with my movie watching in November & the last couple days have been really good. Juggler was in the theater, both Dogfight and I Don't Want to Be a Man are probably in my top 10 of the year so far!! #letterboxd

Based on some of the discussion I have to recommend Penda's Fen! It gets lumped in with folk horror which is kind of a stretch but it is a bit phantasmagoric and mystical. It's a coming-of-age story about sexuality and the tension between Christianity and the pagan roots of England.

Last night @punishedtake.bsky.social and I stopped into a bar before dinner and they randomly had karaoke. It feels so wrong to do karaoke in the sunshine. I need to wear a handkerchief on my head like when eating ortolan to hide my shameful behavior from god's eyes.

I felt compelled to make a list of my favorite books I've read in the past 5 years. Seemed more manageable than "favorite books ever" and I enjoyed looking back and discussing it with a few people while I compiled it. Let me know if you have any recommendations for future reads!
