Hey, @eriklarsen.bsky.social—right?

It's slobbering time!

You can't say Wally Wood didn't warn us; the dormant Gookum is among us!

During routine maintenance, an unexpected microbial discovery was made in the "ship goo" on the R/V Blue Heron's rudder shaft.

Cartoonists, learn how to promote your work like Reiser!

With his signature biting and mocking humor, Jean-Marc Reiser personally handled the promotion of his album "Vive les vacances" in 1979.

A true genius who knew how to make a lasting impression!

Dazzled by the first Star Wars in 1977, Jean-Claude Mézières noted striking similarities with his Valérian series. He wrote to Lucas but received no response.

Mézières retaliated in Pilote Magazine with an illustration of Leïa, Luke, Valérian & Laureline, set in a typical decor of both series.

In January 1975, P. Druillet, J.P. Dionnet, J. Giraud (Moebius), and B. Farkas, revolutionized the world of comics with Métal Hurlant.

"Fortunately, we talked with Mandryka. He's the one who suggested Métal Hurlant to us. We were set on calling it Banane Mécanique, what nonsense!" — Dionnet.

Kudos to Jack for turning the simple act of stretching out an arm to poke a switch with a finger into such a visually fantastic experience!

The Good Jack, the Bad and Ugly Vinnie

Fine lines, delicate cross-hatching, and detailed delineation of anatomical features are recurring arguments for Colletta lovers.

What I see in this limp mush are weak lines, random scribbles, and crude anatomy that ravages the brilliance of Jack Kirby.

Hurrah for Giacoia!

Sinnott is the most luscious.
Royer is the most accurate.
Giacoia is the most true to Kirby!

Fearless Frank Giacoia is a master of clean lines, bold textures, and confident brushwork, perfectly complementing the dynamic power of Kirby's pencils.

Jack Kirby's Greatest Comics Characters

To celebrate the Fantastic Four's 40th anniversary, @eriklarsen.bsky.social & Co created an enjoyable 12-issue mini-series. It didn't fully meet my expectations, so I'd welcome a new attempt with different creative teams leading their own shorter series!

The Art of Jean Giraud / Moebius
(1938-2012)

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's Moebius!

I love the art, but I have a feeling that Moebius didn't attempt to capture the true essence of Superman. He was likely given free rein to create his own interpretation, and the result is what we see here!
