I think what makes me still upset is, unlike other sequels and spinoffs you just forget about, Alien Earth actually made me dislike the world of Alien and tarnished the original movies a little bit for me.

It’s hard to say without spoiling anything but even setting aside how it really cares nothing for the lore of the previous Alien movies and their themes… It is b-movie level plot holes, paper thin character motivations, and recycled tropes. The production design, however, is just outstanding.

What do the cast of The Facts of Life, a giant Kangaroo, the song “Let Your Love Grow” and Thanksgiving have in common? Nothing but that doesn’t stop them from mashing them together in a parade!
