people always want tidy historical narratives. and it always makes me nervous because humans are some messy bitches. so if you’re trying to tidy up the past, i need to know what you plan on doing with that tidy, *useable* history.

I was an international grad student (from Canada) ~20 years ago. If there been a 4-year limit to F-1 visas and no OPT, I would have gone to a Canadian university - a decision many potential scholars and professionals will be making in the near future.

It would be a museum devoted to Canada’s Small Town Big Things, constructed as a huge relief map built into a mini golf course with scale replicas of all of the Big Things.
