One of the dumbest thing you’ll encounter in Israel discourse is Zionists acting shocked when Palestinians use “Jews/Jewish” as a stand in for Israel, despite that being the reality of Palestinians in Palestine. When Israel conducts its violent endeavours, it does so in the name of the Jewish state.

I made a post on tumblr about how the concern with low fertility rates seems very farcical because of the right’s posturing against things like migration and how they also claim certain cultures “breed like rabbits” and Matt Yglesias just tweeted it right out.

The difference between the right and the left is the left can actually recognise when rhetoric is just that compared to when rhetoric has actual consequences. The outrage over “death to the IDF” chants as if that’s a hate crime when really it’s just people voicing outrage over war crimes in Gaza.
